A clown (from the Italian pagliaccio) is a stereotypical character commonly depicted in extravagant clothing, excessive makeup and flashy wigs. Usually associated with a circus artist, the function is to make people, jokes worn, pirouettes and sometimes funny tricks, but also a satirical actor who makes fun of everyday. It also gives the nickname to anyone who tends to have a funny mood. In some cultures clown dress and makeup denote a hierarchy, from vagabond make-up to white face. The artist can make use of oil or water base makeup. Likewise, in some of the societies of the clowns they are related to other areas and subjects, mainly of the television, where they are represented even as evil personages. Regularly in childhood they fear these characters for their dress and arrangements. The well-known clown that means "villager", has as antecedent the circuses where the villagers were the first to be part of these.
