Question

Last week my neighbor was on holiday. One
night I (6) heard / had heard a strange noise in
her house. 1 (7) opened / had opened the door
to have a look, and I found that someone (8)
broke / had broken into the house. Luckily, he
(or shel) (9) already left/ had already left
when I got there, and they (10) didn't steal /
hadn't stolen much as far as I could see - just
the TV.​
