A geometric transformation, or simply a transformation, is an application that matches each point on the plane another point in the plane. Consequently, the figures are transformed into other figures
The most common transformations are translations, rotations, symmetries and homotecias. All of them maintain the shape of the figures, but can reduce the size and position change figure.


I would also like to add that the term consistent biene the term Dilation: Formation of similar figures in which corresponding points are collinear two to two with respect to another fixed point. A homothety with center and reason leads to any line through O itself, and not a line L through O, to a straight L'parallel to L. Just keep in mind that the sides are increased if a> 0, decreasing if a <0 and maintained if a = 1.
