3. IS Linda PLAYING (play) computer games at the moment? - No, she IS CHATTING (chat) with her friends.

NOTAS:

1. Los verbos estáticos (= stative verbs) no se conjugan en present continuous salvo excepciones. Por eso, los verbos to be (en las oraciones 4 y 9) y want (en las oraciones 7 y 10) están en present simple.

2. Hay algunos errores en estas oraciones, que simplemente he corregido (no hay más espacio para explicaciones).

10. ¿Por qué Steve está callado/silencioso? - Quiere probar ser menos hablador, al menos durante un par de minutos.

11. ¿Estos hombres están discutiendo? - Sí, el jefe de Jack le está  gritando porque no está satisfecho con los resultados de su trabajo.

12. ¿Tu padre está lavando el coche en este momento? - No, está parado cerca de él y está hablando con nuestro/a vecino/a.

La mayoría de los verbos de este ejercicio están conjugados en present continuous (o present progressive). Aquí tienes una guía para formar este tiempo verbal.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS/PROGRESSIVE

➜ Sujeto + auxiliar 'AM/IS/ARE' + forma '-ing' del verbo principal + complementos  

Se debe elegir el auxiliar según el sujeto de la oración:  

• Sujeto: I ----------------------→ Auxiliar: AM  

• Sujeto: he, she, it ---------→ Auxiliar: IS
