The Legend of the Rabbit Etched

on the Moon

Legend has it that the Aztec god Quetzalcóatl had existed. According to this legend, on a summer afternoon, the Aztec god Quetzalcóatl had thought that it might be a very good idea to go for a walk. But he had forgotten that his appearance, in the form of a feathered serpent, could frighten the world. In this way he decided that the best thing would be to go down to Earth for a walk taking a new human and common aspect.

The god Quetzalcóatl has walked without stopping all day, fully enjoying all the wonderful landscapes that the precious Earth offered him. And after a long walk, when the sun seemed to say goodbye amid the pink and magical lights of the sunset, Quetzalcóatl felt a terrible hunger that tightened his stomach, as well as a strong fatigue. But despite all that discomfort, Quetzalcóatl has never stopped on his way.

Night has finally fallen, and next to a beautiful and almost orange Moon, thousands of stars were shining that eclipsed the god himself. And at that very moment, Quetzalcóatl thought that he should stop his walk and finally rest to regain strength. The beauty of the sky had made him realize that the world deserved to be looked at carefully and with real attention.

He sat down at that very moment on a thick stone in the path, and a short time later a bunny approached him, who seemed to be watching him with great attention as he moved his thin whiskers.
