Publisher Description: Estudios de Asia y Africa is an interdisciplinary academic journal that began publication in El Colegio de Mexico in January of 1966 under the name Estudios Orientales. In January of 1975 the name of the magazine changed to Estudios de Asia y Africa, continuing the volume and issue ordering. It currently publishes three times per year. The journal contains debates, documents, book reviews, informative articles on current events, historical analyses of present events, text translations of Asian or African languages, and articles of investigation with summaries in English and Spanish.

El Colegio de México is an autonomous public institution devoted to research and higher education in the social sciences and the humanities. Its mission is to prepare human resources, conduct high-level research and generate and disseminate knowledge in order to help find solutions for national, regional and global problems. El Colegio admits a limited number of students into its educational programs, based on criteria of academic excellence. El Colegio has academic and exchange agreements with many Mexican and foreign institutions and universities.
