Dolphins are mammals that live in aquatic environments. Dolphins belong to the family of cetaceans (within which we can find whales and porpoises) more specifically the toothed whales and toothed whales.
On their physical characteristics we say that dolphins have very streamlined bodies with small fins which facilitates mobility in the aquatic environment and provides high strength and speed in the water. The average size of a dolphin is around 4.5 meters long and its weight is usually about 300 kilograms.
Dolphins often live in societies of between 6 and 100 individuals by establishing a hierarchy of work in the group. Thanks to this hierarchy dolphins are very supportive animals between them and while some are responsible for finding food others are dedicated to the protection of the pack. For this reason it is very difficult to surprise a dolphin because, thanks to a system of ultrasonic whistles, communicate quickly and efficiently so the herd is always alert. With respect to the offspring we can say that, curiously, are born in water and their mothers, along with other adults responsible for the protection of these offspring, bring them to the surface so they can start breathing. The dolphin calves are large protected as always swimming in the middle of the group so that access to them is virtually impossible ensuring them a peaceful growth. So I always take the time to play because it establishes strong links with the rest of the herd while they develop their muscles and swimming techniques.
On food we say that dolphins are predators so their diet is based on crustaceans (able to break their teeth), fish, squid and pulpos.Como all mammals at birth, hatchlings feed on breast milk but, curiously, they are done underwater. Another important factor is the insufficient supply of liquids available dolphins as they do not drink fresh water. Their only source of liquid is food. They have a control system very similar to that of animals that live in places with extreme conditions of hot liquids. Their urine is highly concentrated (factor favoring low fluid loss).

1. Dolphins are mammals. Like all mammals, they are characterized by feed their young by the mammary glands.

2. Dolphins can swim up to 260 m. below the ocean surface. However, divers are generally shallow because, by their nature, need to come to the surface to breathe.

3. Dolphins can stay up to 15 minutes under water.

Just do it sometimes, because usually left a few minutes before diving to the surface for air.

4. Among the features of the dolphins this using a technique called echolocation. This technique uses the same principles of radar and is used to find food and to orient themselves when swimming long distances.

5. The dolphins are characterized by being social. They live in groups and cooperate to perform activities such as obtaining food.
