Things couldn't have been worse for Steve. He ended up sitting on a park bench at 11:00 a.m when he should have been at school playing basketball. He had decided to finish all his homework the night before so that he could play basketball all day, so he went to bed after midnight. Of course he forgot to set the alarm clock and he overslept. He jumped out of bed and bumped his head, ran to the bathroom to throw water on it, and slipped on the floor, hurting his foot. He finally managed to put on his tennis shoes and get out the door, but when he got to the bus stop, the bus had already left. He tried to run to school, but he couldn't because of his foot. When he got there, the basketball game was over. He limped to the park and sat down. His basketball coach found him there, looking miserable.
