Utilizamos which para preguntar sobre un número limitado de objetos o animales. La diferencia con what es que este es para preguntas más generales.
Ejemplos:
Which one of these cars is the fastest? (¿Cuál de estos automóviles es el más rápido?)
Which was the book you read last week? (¿Cuál era el libro que leíste la semana pasada?)
Which was the lamp you broke? (¿Cuál era la lámpara que rompiste?)
Which one of these gloves is the most expensive? (¿Cuál de estos guantes es el más caro?)
In which row did she sit? (¿En cuál fila se sentó?)
Which one of these subjects are you going to select? (¿Cuál de estos temas vas a elegir?)
Which month is the coldest? (¿Cuál mes es el más frío?)
Which one is yours? (¿Cuál es tuyo?)
Which one of those restaurants is cheaper? (¿Cuál de aquellos restaurantes es más barato?)
Which color do you like, blue or red? (¿Cuál color te gusta, azul o rojo?)
Utilizamos who para preguntar algo en relación a alguien.
Ejemplos:
Who is he? (¿Quién es él?)
Who is your friend? (¿Quién es tu amigo?)
Who is talking? (¿Quién está hablando?)
Who is running in the park? (¿Quién está corriendo en el parque?)
Who was at the party? (¿Quién estaba en la fiesta?)
Who have you called? (¿A quién has llamado?)
Who is going to visit her? (¿Quién la va a visitar?)
Who was working in the garage? (¿Quién estaba trabajando en el garaje?)
Who was with you? (¿Quién estaba contigo?)
Who can help me? (¿Quién puede ayudarme?)
Utilizamos whom…? para preguntar a quién…? Utilizamos who si se puede responder con he o she, utilizamos whom si se puede responder con him o her.

Whom did you visit at the hospital? (¿A quién visitaste en el hospital?)
Whom should I address this letter? (¿A quién debo dirigir esta carta?)
Whom did you write? (¿A quién escribes?)
Whom did you invite to the party? (¿A quién invitaste a la fiesta?)
Whom did they choose for the job? (¿A quién eligieron para el trabajo?)
Whom did you sell your car? (¿A quién le vendiste tu automóvil?)
Whom did you give the book I was reading last night? (¿A quién le diste el libro que estaba leyendo anoche?)
Whom did you ask for permission? (¿A quién le pediste permiso?)
Whom did you tell the secret? (¿A quién le dijiste el secreto?)
Utilizamos when para preguntar el momento en que algo sucedió, sucede o sucederá.
Ejemplos:

When can I see you again? (¿Cuándo te puedo volver a ver?)

When are we going to visit them? (¿Cuándo vamos a visitarlos?)

Utilizamos where para preguntar por un lugar o ubicación.
Ejemplos:
Where are you from? (¿De dónde eres?)

Where is the nearest bank? (¿Dónde está el banco más cercano?)
