Karen Smith, 15, is a student at Providencia School. She is Canadian, but she lives in Chile since 2015. She lives in Coquimbo but she studies in La Serena.

Karen always gets up at 6 am. She always takes a shower and usually has a light breakfast at 7.

domiamara: She leaves home at 7.20 and takes a school bus with her sister Megan and her father Frank every morning. Her father is a teacher but he doesn't work at Providencia School. Frank teaches English at university.

domiamara: Karen studies from 8.00 to 3.30 in the afternoon, and then she leaves school. She arrives home at 4.30 with her sister. Megan is two years older than Karen. Karen and Megan don't have lunch at school. Her mother, Paula, receives the girls at home every afternoon. Paula doesn't leave home because she works there, she is a travel agent.

domiamara: Karen studies from Monday to Friday. And what does she do on weekends? On Saturdays, she helps her mother cooking lunch and plays video games with Megan. She studies and reads a book every Sunday.

Karen says, "My Spanish isn’t very good right now but my father teaches me every night. I'm a very lucky student, he is the best teacher."
