It was a cold evening and Joan and her husband were at home, ready to go to the railway station to take a train to
Paris, where they would start their holidays.
It was dinner time, but their fridge was empty, so Mark invited Joan to have dinner out. Some pizza and a pint of
beer sounded like a good idea, so the couple got their luggage ready and called for a taxi to take them to the station
There was a pizza bar there.
The couple chose a table next to the door from where they could see the departure board. When the waiter
approached their table, they ordered a pizza with onion,
peppers and cheese topping. About twenty minutes later, the waiter brought their order. The pizza looked tasty,
adequate for the occasion. It had black olives, Joan's favourites.
As the couple had some time to spare, they ate slowly and talked about their holidays plans. They were eager to go
sightseeing and visit museums. Just then something unexpected happened!
Joan began to scream like mad and Mark did not understand why but Joan was too shocked to explain. Actually, the
problem was that Mark had part of a cockroach in his mouth. Yes! When he bit the slice of pizza, he cut the insect's
body into two.
But Mark thought it was an olive ... When he realized, he called the waiter at once and explained the situation quite
angrily while the people at the other tables were looking at their pizzas to check for cockroaches.
The manager of the place apologized and, in the end, Mark and Joan left the place without paying anything. Anyway,
they promised not to return.
