The extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and, especially, the confinement of the Spanish population to stop the contagion have valued the importance of families and the effort required by all their members to maintain balance within from home in a prolonged situation. On the occasion of the International Day of Families, which is celebrated on May 15 (with the Community of Madrid still in the so-called phase 0), we wanted to know the experience of some of the families of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities: know how they have lived two months locked up at home, what they have experienced in the timid opening towards the outside and, above all, what they hope for the immediate future.
