Punta Cana is a town (Paraje) belonging to the Juanillo section, located in the east of the Dominican Republic, in the province of La Altagracia and in this town there are several hotel complexes, whose total area is about 420,000 m² (equivalent to 42 hectares or 0.42 km²). Located in Cabo Engaño, the easternmost part of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana has become one of the most popular tourist areas due to its high offer of hotel resorts with “all-inclusive” services. Despite what it may seem, the construction of these complexes was done in such a way that, in general, they were integrated into nature, increasing the feeling of being in open spaces and enriching the experience of a tropical environment.

Punta Cana is quite isolated from the rest of the towns in the area, being Playa Bávaro the only neighboring town. In any case, excursions can be hired at the different hotels to see other areas of the region, such as Saona Island, Catalinita or the Eastern National Park, where you can walk the Padre Nuestro ecological and archaeological trail.

The beach is a good example of a wonderful tropical coastline with white sands and crystal blue waters, lined with numerous palm trees. In these waters, you can practice all kinds of water sports, such as snorkeling and diving, being able to explore the largest coral reef on the entire island of about 30 km in length. In addition, you can take a glass bottom boat circuit where you can see the reef.

There is a diving center, Punta Cana Diving Center, where you can rent the necessary equipment and where, also, courses are taught.

The Cap Cana marina is the largest and most complete in the Caribbean, offering 1,200 berths up to 75 m long and equipped with the most complete services.

Visit the Dolphin Island Park located between the beach and the coral reef of Bávaro and swim with different marine animals in their natural environment.

You can also visit the Manatí Park, where there are numerous tropical birds and reptiles, and where you can watch animal shows, surrounded by abundant tropical plants, in this 210 m2 park.

Other very interesting activities that can be done in the area can be playing golf or horseback riding in the area of the Punta Cana ecological park. Be sure to book an excursion through the park where you can see iguanas and many different types of birds. in the eleven lagoons that make up the route, called "eyes".

Another attraction in the area is the Fun-Fun cave, which has excursions that include a horseback ride, a hike through the lush tropical forest, a 20-m ravine descent and a 2-km walk through one of the systems. of largest caves throughout the Caribbean. The excursion also includes a refreshing swim in the underground river, in addition to the necessary equipment for the tour
