Pues no soy profesor de ingles y soy malo explicando a pesar de saber, mas bien reconozco las respuestas por hablar regularmente y conocer el idioma de forma mas cotidiana.

Are = son/estan, aunque tambien se puede referir a ti siendo asi eres/estas puede llegar a tener un significado complejo pero basicamente es eso
