Some important rules to remember!
Short vowel – double the last letter.
e.g. fat fatter than the fattest
wet wetter than the wettest
Two vowels or two consonants together – the last letter is not doubled.
e.g. clear clearer than the clearest
dark darker than the darkest
Words that end with a y – drop the y and change it to ie.
e.g. sticky stickier than the stickiest
ugly uglier than the ugliest
Words that end with an e –drop the e and add –er and –est.
e.g. wise wiser than the wisest
white whiter than the whitest
Words that can be broken up into more than two syllables – use more and most.
e.g. hor/ri/ble more horrible than the most horrible
fan/tas/tic more fantastic than the most fantastic
Words that end with ful - use more and most.
e.g. delightful more delightful than the most delightful
careful more careful than the most careful
If in doubt use more and most !

¡Algunas reglas importantes para recordar!
Vocal corta: duplica la última letra.
p.ej. gordo más gordo que el más gordo
húmedo más húmedo que el más húmedo
Dos vocales o dos consonantes juntas: la última letra no se duplica.
p.ej. claro más claro que el más claro
oscuro más oscuro que el más oscuro
Palabras que terminan con una y: suelte la y y cámbiela a ie.
p.ej. pegajoso más pegajoso que el más pegajoso
feo más feo que el más feo
Palabras que terminan con una e –suelta la e y agregan –er y –est.
p.ej. sabio más sabio que el más sabio
blanco más blanco que el más blanco
Palabras que se pueden dividir en más de dos sílabas: use más y la mayoría.
