Once upon a time there was a boy called Tomás who didn't like to eat vegetables or fruit. His parents were very angry with him, but he didn't care.

One day Tomas became very ill. He complained of a bad tummy ache. His parents got very scared and took him to the hospital. The doctors didn't understand what was wrong.

- Does this child exercise? -asked one of the paediatricians.

- Yes, he exercises a lot," said Tomás' parents.

- Has he had any illnesses lately? -asked another doctor.

- A cold or two, yes," they answered again.

- Are you eating well, Tomás? -a young doctor asked the boy.

- Yes, at most," said the boy.

- But do you eat everything," she insisted.

- Well.... yes.... Well... no.... I eat almost everything

Tomás' parents looked at him sideways. His mother confessed to the doctors that Tomás ate neither fruit nor vegetables. The young doctor intervened again:

- Tomás, do you poo every day?

- No, I haven't been able to for days. It hurts too much," said the boy.

After examining Tomás very carefully, the doctors met to discuss what was wrong with him. After a while, they approached Tomás and his parents and said, "This boy has constipation:

- This boy has constipation. He can't poop because he doesn't eat enough fibre.

- Enough what? -asked Tomás.

- Enough fibre, Tomás," repeated the doctor. Fibre is essential to be able to pass waste out of the body and poo. If you don't poo, the waste builds up in your tummy and it hurts.

- Does that mean I have a garbage can in my tummy? -asked Tomás.

- Ha ha ha ha! Something like that," answered the doctor. Besides, your blood tells us that you're lacking vitamins and minerals, and that's not good.

- Why is that not good?

- Because vitamins and minerals are essential for the body to function well and do its job.

Tomás' parents became worried. They asked the doctors if there was anything they could give the boy to give him the vitamins, minerals and fibre he lacked.

- Yes, there is," the young doctor replied. But that is not the solution. This child needs to eat fruit and vegetables and nothing will happen to him again.

- But I don't like it! -Tomas protested.

- I understand," said the doctor again. This is a mission for Supertomato.

At that moment a giant tomato flew into the room, screaming like a madman:

- Supertomato.... to the rescue!!!!

And he crashed into the wall.

Tomas found it so funny that he couldn't stop laughing. Supertomato had taken quite a hit and was a bit smashed up.

- Does it hurt? -Thomas asked Supertomato.

- No way," he said. I'm a superhero. I've come to bring you a super-special remedy for your super-problem. Close your eyes, open your mouth and trust me.

Tomas did as Supertomato asked. With the laughter and the commotion, Tomás didn't have time to think about it much.

Supertomato gave him some delicious sweets.

- Oh, this is so good! -said Tomás.

- Do you like it?

- Yes!

- Then go to .... vegetables and fruits!

Supertomato... Supertomato had given him very cold pieces of carrot, tomato and cucumber, as well as apple, orange, pear and peach. He had cut them all into funny shapes. It was fun to taste a piece of those stars and hearts and guess what they were.

Tom discovered that the fruit and vegetables were really good, and asked him to give him more and more.

Supertomato visited Tomás several times until he got him to eat real food. And when the boy left the hospital, she reminded him that he had to keep eating fruit and vegetables every day.

At home, his parents told the boy that he could ask them for anything he wanted, that they would give it to him as a reward for his great achievement.

- I want to plant my own tomatoes! -said Tomás.

And so it was that Tomás began to eat fruits and vegetables and to grow his own vegetables.

Now those are good!
