GRAMMAR: PAST CONTINUOUS AND SIMPLE PAST.
1- Read the following situations. Choose the right form of the verb in brackets.

a- Last night I was seeing/ saw some offensive comments about a friend of mine. while I was browsing/ browsed through Instagram stories.

b- While a friend of mine was talking/ talked to me about something very important, I was starting/ started looking at my cell phone and suddenly, I forgot about the conversation.

c- While I was posting/ posted a picture on Instagram, the teacher was appearing/ appeared and was telling/ told me to stop using my cell phone.

d- I was reading / read some news on Instagram when an unwanted contact was giving/ gave me a like on one of my pictures.

e- I was talking/ talked about something I wanted to buy when suddenly I was opening/ opened the cellphone and was seeing / saw information about that product on the net.

El pasado continuo (past continuous) expresa la duración de una acción pasada y no indica si está terminada, mientras que el pasado simple (past simple) se refiere a una acción puntual que empezó y acabó en el pasado.
