x + y = 48  (1)
x - y = 18   (2)

Despejas x de (1) y (2)

x + y = 48
x = 48 - y    (3)
x - y = 18
x = 18 + y  (4)

Igulas (3) y (4)

48 - y = 18 + y
48 - 18 = y + y
30 = 2y
30/2 = y
15 = y        Remplazas este valor en (3)
x = 48 - y
x = 48 - 15
x = 33
