In Villateabrasas it was infernal heat in summer. It was so hot that even the water in the shower was hot, so hot that it burned. Even swimming pools were not a solution to the heat, because there were so many people inside that the temperature rose until it was unbearable.
The high temperatures made Villateabrasas completely paralyze during the summer, because nobody was comfortable with so much heat. So nobody worked and stayed at home, in the shade and chilling as they could.
One year in spring, before it started to get so hot, the mayor of Villateabrasas received an important statement. The Prime Minister would be visiting them soon. He had big projects for the place that, according to everyone, was the hottest in the world. It seemed that the tourist possibilities were incredible with those temperatures. The visit would take place in the month of August.
The mayor communicated the good news to all the neighbors. Everyone found it exceptional. However, the mayor raised a problem:
-Dear neighbors, we have to do something so that the Prime Minister can visit the town without fainting from the heat.
"You're right, Mr. Mayor," said one of the neighbors. In the heat, who will have the courage to even go out to greet the Prime Minister?
"I have an idea," said another neighbor. Let's build a large umbrella that covers the town to provide shade.
"And let's put some sprinklers on top to cool the atmosphere," added another neighbor.
Together they were completing and designing the idea until they came up with a perfect solution so that the hottest days were somewhat more bearable.
"Let's get to work then," said the mayor. We will prepare the plans, buy the materials and in a couple of weeks we will start working. There is little left for the heat to press.
But that year the heat arrived early and, after a few days, the temperatures began to rise. Neighbors forgot about the large umbrella and started stocking up for what seemed like a long summer without leaving the house.
