The fauna is divided into different types according to the geographical origin from which the species that inhabit an ecosystem or biotope come from. Wild or wild fauna is that which lives in freedom and has not been domesticated.

A group of animals (invertebrates, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and mammals) that live freely and outside the control of man in natural environments. Invertebrates are often considered outside the definition of wildlife, generally living within a natural ecosystem such as a forest, jungle, desert, mangrove etc. When they live in a place other than their natural ecosystem it is because they have been extracted by man for various purposes but they are still considered wild fauna.

They are all those animals that live in freedom without receiving any direct help from man to obtain their needs (food, reproductive partner, shelter, water, etc.). All organisms are included, from the smallest invertebrates to the largest vertebrates. Wild fauna is also perceived as animals whose evolutionary development occurred and continues to occur without the direct or indirect intervention of the human being, the human being does not intervene in aspects such as the adaptations of the species to the geographical and climatological conditions of their habitats . They meet their food needs on their own with the probability of finding food and water in a day or a week or more. They do not know exactly when they will eat and have to decide whether to continue foraging or resting to save energy.
