Colombia is a country with a great variety of flora and fauna. Some species like the spec-
tacled bear, are only found in this fascinating country. This animal takes its name from
the marking in its eyes. It is a shy creature that sleeps and eats most of the times. It is an
endangered animal because it is losing its natural habitat. It is hunted by humans and its
claws are taken for natural medicine practices. Some measures are taken both by the
government and by environmental entities and some decisions are taken to preserve this
beautiful animal.
Every year, in Colombia's Pacific ocean you can see the famous humpback whales. Their
beautiful songs are heard and enjoyed by many tourists from all over the world who
come between July and October to see and hear this natural show. In the past, these ani-
mals were hunted. Nowadays, they are protected against pollution, human disturbance
and ships by conservation organizations.
