Alan Olav Walker (Northampton, England, August 24, 1997) is a Norwegian-British DJ and producer.
The son of a British and a Norwegian, he was born on August 24, 1997 in Northampton, England. With two years of age, he moved with his parents to Bergen, Norway.
In 2012, inspired by producers K-391 and Ahrix, which he had discovered on YouTube, and composers Steve Jablonsky and Hans Zimmer, he began creating his own music with his laptop.
In 2014 he composed Fade, a song that he uploaded to his YouTube channel and caught the attention of some people, including the record label NoCopyrightSounds (NCS) with which he signed a contract. NoCopyrightSounds launched Faded on its YouTube channel on November 19, 2014, achieving great success and receiving more than 100 million views. The songs Specter and Force followed in 2015.
In 2015 he signed with the record company Sony Music Entertainment (SME). His first song with Sony Music Sweden was: Faded, a vocal version of Fade, voiced by singer Iselin Solheim. Faded was released on December 3, 2015 and within a few weeks of its release it began topping the top of some European charts. Two months later, he released the acoustic version of Faded titled Faded (Restrung).
On June 2, 2016 he released Sing Me to Sleep, again with the collaboration of singer Iselin Solheim. Subsequently, he has also released three remixes, one of the Coldplay song "Hymn for the Weekend", another of the Cash Cash & Digital Farm Animals song; "Millionaire (feat. Nelly)" and another of Sia's song; "Move Your Body". On December 1, 2016 he released his new single "Alone".
