José Tadeo Monagas Burgos (Amana del Tamarindo, Maturín, Cumaná Province, Captaincy General of Venezuela, Spanish Empire; October 28, 1784-Caracas, Venezuela; November 18, 1868) was a Venezuelan military and politician. He was president of the republic in two periods between March 1, 1847 and January 20, 1851, between 1855 and 1858, and ruled indirectly during the period between 1858 and 1864. He was a member of the Liberal Party, and led the Blue Revolution.
