Cómo usar el verbo TAKE en inglés: take the bus
Se dice…
take the bus / the train / a plane / a taxi = tomar el autobús / el tren / un avión / un taxi etc
Se usa take para llegar a un sitio en un modo de transporte, especialmente cuando hablamos del destino del viaje. Para hablar de donde nos subimos al autobús, usamos catch.
I’m taking a plane to Barcelona.
She’s taking a train to Paris.
He takes the bus to work every day.
BUT: I caught the bus at the stop near my house.
Otro uso importante del verbo take…
Take puede traducirse como “llevar”
Otra expresión importante…
take something somewhere = tomar algo y llevarlo a otro sitio
He took his suit to the cleaner’s.
She took the dog for a walk.
They took a bottle of wine to Charlie’s house.
Where did you take my dictionary? I can’t find it anywhere at home.
