1.Elephants' skin is very sensitive to the sun, and most babies of this species are constantly under the shade of their mothers to avoid serious sunburn. To help protect their skin, elephants will roll in the mud and cover themselves with dirt from the mud.

2.The gestation of elephants lasts around 22 months, almost two years! The pregnancy is so long probably because of the large size of the elephant and the slow development of the fetus of this animal.
