Carapaz considera que el país ha visto en el ciclismo "un deporte bandera", por lo que insistió en la necesidad de elaborar un calendario nacional de competencias, para generar talentos como los de Jhonatan Narváez, Jonathan Caicedo y Miryam Núñez.
