Explicación:

-s al final del verbo (writes). Si el verbo termina en -s (kisses), -sh (crashes), -ch (searches), -o (does), o -x (fixes), agrega -es. Para los verbos que terminan con una -y precedida por una consonante se cambia la ‘y’ por -ies (studies).

Dos excepciones muy importantes a estas reglas son los verbos be y have, que en tercera persona del presente simple se conjugan is y has, respectivamente. Además, ten en cuenta que los verbos modales en inglés, como can, could, should, must, y would, no se conjugan y no tienen tiempo.
