Hollywood is a district of Los Angeles, associated with the American film industry. It was not until 1903 when it became a municipality until 1910 when councilors voted in favor of integration to Los Angeles, primarily to provide enough water through the grid of the city.

In 1857 the town was founded. Although consists of the holly words -acebo- and wood-bosque-, its name comes from a homonym ranch where the family lived a property developer. In turn, the ranch was called Hollywood because the promoter's wife knew amarriage whose house was his name.

In the late nineteenth century, Thomas Alva Edison practically monopolized the film industry. Therefore, as a result of the war of patents (1897), film producers until thensettled down between New York and New Jersey decided to move to California to continue filming there and stop paying a rate considered abusive. In addition, therewere more sunny days and longer, which benefited them (although it already existedelectricity, movie studios relied on natural lighting when shooting).
