It was the night before Christmas. Everyone was rushing home to get to their family. In the streets, people were doing last minute shopping. They was a santa in front of the shopping centre. He was singing Christmas carols. It was quite cold and the people were all wrapped up with warm clothes and hats.
Suddenly, I noticed a group of people gathering together. They were talking to a homeless man who was sitting outside in the frozen weather. I went up to them to see what was going on. They were inviting him to go with them to celebrate Christmas. They told him to go with them. I was heartbroken when I saw this. I asked one of the people who tried to convince the homeless man to go with them.
His name was Mark, and he told me that they did this every year. I was really surprised. I asked them if I could help. They said, 'yes'. So I phoned my parents and I told them that I was not going home because I was going to help the homeless. I also told them that I was spending Christmas with them.
I did this and it had been the best and most meaningful Christmas that I have ever had.
That year I learnt about the true meaning of Xmas.
