A husband in love and tortured by doubt is the protagonist of The Yellow Face. Holmes and Watson are visited by Grant Munro, a young and prosperous hop merchant who, after two years of happy marriage to his wife Effie, observes a strange behavior in her, which plunges him into a sea of doubts and jealousy.
Finally, what seemed like a plot of revenge and blackmail that confuses Holmes himself, is presented as a tender story of mother-child love.
