Since the publication of the first issue of our journal in October-December 1969 to date, the main objective has been to reflect upon and discuss issues relating to economic development. Different collaborators over the course of four decades have sought, from different perspectives, to provide the theory of development with its own direction, challenging orthodox views. In this new phase of Problemas del Desarrollo, efforts are specifically directed towards analyzing the paradigms of the economy within Latin American thinking.

Since the publication of the first issue of our magazine in October-December 1969 until today, the main objective has been to reflect and discuss the problems surrounding economic development. The different pens that have collaborated with us over four decades have tried to find a proper direction to the theory of development from different approaches critical to orthodoxy. In this new stage of Problems of Development, the efforts are directed specifically to the analysis of the paradigms of the course of the economy in the space of Latin American thought. Desde la publicación del primer número de nuestra revista en octubre-diciembre de 1969 hasta el día de hoy, el objetivo fundamental ha sido reflexionar y discutir la problemática en torno al desarrollo económico. Las diferentes plumas que han colaborado con nosotros a lo largo de cuatro décadas han intentado encontrar un rumbo propio a la teoría del desarrollo desde diferentes enfoques críticos a la ortodoxia. En esta nueva etapa de Problemas del Desarrollo, los esfuerzos se dirigen específicamente al análisis de los paradigmas del curso de la economía en el espacio del pensamiento latinoamericano.
