Wild pigs can live up to 20 years, but their half-life is lower, an average of 4 to 8 years, due to high death rates from predation. Pigs raised for cattle in the United States typically reach market weight of 120 kilos in about 4 to 5 months. Breeding pigs will stay on the farm an average of 2 years longer than market pigs but in optimal care conditions as a pet or similar they can live from 15 to 20 years.
