Cuándo se usa “will”
“Will” se usa al hablar de situaciones que ocurren en el futuro. Se usa en oraciones que tienen algo que ver con el futuro.
They will have two extra meetings this afternoon. “Ellos tendrán dos reuniones adicionales esta tarde”.
I will be thirty next year. “Cumpliré treinta el próximo año”.
Este verbo modal también se usa para hablar sobre decisiones o acciones inmediatas o espontáneas.
Somebody is ringing the bell. I’ll (I will) go and see. “Alguien está tocando el timbre. Iré a ver quién es”.
What will you drink? Well, I’ll have a cup of coffee. “¿Qué beberás? Bueno, tomaré una taza de café”.
“Will” se usa para pedir a alguien que haga algo por nosotros o cuando necesitamos pedir algo sobre el futuro.
Will you tell Jane that we expect her for dinner? “¿Le dirás a Jane que la esperamos para cenar?”.
Will you copy these files and print them for all the students, please? “Por favor, ¿copiarás estos archivos y los imprimirás para todos los estudiantes?”.
“Will” se usa en promesas y predicciones.
I will always remember you. “Siempre te recordaré”.
Can’t you do this task? Don’t worry, dad will soon come and help you. “¿No puedes hacer esta tarea? No te preocupes, papá vendrá pronto y te ayudará”.
Those people won’t (will not) tell you the truth. “Esas personas no te dirán la verdad”.
La palabra “will” se usa en las oraciones condicionales de Tipo 1.
We will go fishing at the weekend if the weather is good. “Iremos a pescar el fin de semana si el clima está bien”.
You will pass the exam if you study well. “Pasarás el examen si estudias bien”.
