El tamborito o tambor es un género musical y baile autóctono panameño, donde una voz principal (cantalante) entona la melodía y marca el compás cantando un estribillo seguida por el cajero y otros tambores que se suman a la voz; un coro de mujeres responden cantando mientras siguen la melodía con palmadas apoyando el compás estableciendo una especie de diálogo cantado entre la cantalante, el coro y los tambores.1
