For some years now, the new information and communication technologies — ICT — have had a more intense impact on our lives and our work. Every time the number of social activities that are not related in some way to technological advances is less. For a scientific discipline that is concerned with analyzing multiple interrelated variables, trying to account for the forces and actors that structure and define territorial configurations, recent advances may favor better results and greater rigor when launching interpretations and proposing alternatives in certain contexts. What is and will be the impact of new technologies on the geographer's work? Attempting to partially answer this question, the possibilities for the geographer in terms of the management of ICTs that allow dealing with geographic information and the emergence or modification of some concepts - cyberspace - and geographic paradigms, associated with the dynamics of the world communications network —Internet— and especially in the field of virtual geography.
