We have just learned that this 2020 the budget dedicated to education will suffer a cut of about 1,800 million euros. That is to say, once again our politicians sin as short-term and resort to the easiest and fastest in what seems like a race to see who makes the biggest cut, and which, however, is the most expensive in the medium and long term.
It is as if some parents who are going through a difficult economic situation, decide that the best way to cut expenses and make ends meet is to cut their children's food budget. They don't have to eat three or four times a day, two is enough. In this way they reduce expenses drastically, but they also mortgage the future of their children precisely when they need it most. When they are growing, condemning them in this way to poor growth that guarantees them to be the first to fall into future diseases.
This is what our politicians are doing. Yes, spending on education is high, but cutting from here is the best guarantee to suffer before other future economic crises and face them in worse conditions than other countries, taking longer to get out of it.
Unfortunately our politicians are not up to the task, and they do not realize the results are the pillars of a society of progress and that protect us from future crises. Other more advanced countries have long realized this. So when this crisis hit, they cut spending in many places except three, education, healthcare, and research and development. When will our politicians realize this?

Acabamos de saber que este 2020 el presupuesto dedicado a la educación, sufrirá un recorte de unos 1.800 millones de euros. Es decir, una vez más nuestros políticos pecan de cortoplacistas y recurren a lo más fácil y rápido en lo que parece una carrera por ver quién realiza el mayor recorte, y que, sin embargo, es lo más caro a medio y largo plazo.
Es como si unos padres que pasan por una situación económica difícil, deciden que la mejor manera de recortar gastos y llegar a fin de mes, es recortar el presupuesto en alimentación de sus hijos. Que no hace falta que coman tres o cuatro veces al día, con dos es suficiente. De esta manera reducen gastos drásticamente, pero también hipotecan el futuro de sus hijos precisamente cuando más falta les hace. Cuando están creciendo, condenándoles de esta manera a un crecimiento pobre que les garantiza ser los primeros en caer en futuras enfermedades.
Esto mismo es lo que están haciendo nuestros políticos. Sí, el gasto en educación es elevado, pero recortar de aquí es la mayor garantía para sufrir antes que los demás futuras crisis económicas y enfrentarse a ellas en peores condiciones que otros países, tardando más en salir de ella.
Por desgracia nuestros políticos no están a la altura, y no se dan cuenta de resultados son los pilares de una sociedad de progreso y que nos proteja de futuras crisis. Otros países más avanzados hace tiempo que se dieron cuenta de ello. De modo que cuando esta crisis llegó, recortaron gastos de muchos sitios, exceptuando tres, educación, sanidad e investigación y desarrollo. ¿Cuándo se darán nuestros políticos cuenta de ello?
