Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany, on March 14, 1879, into a Jewish family. His parents were Hermann Einstein and Pauline Koch. Albert attended his primary studies in a Catholic school; a difficult period that he would endure thanks to the violin lessons that his mother would give him and the introduction to algebra that his uncle Jacob would discover for him.

Einstein was excellent in mathematics and physics but was not interested in the other subjects, he began studying mathematics at the age of 12. He became interested in algebra and geometry and at the age of 15, without a tutor or guide, he began the study of infinitesimal calculus. After graduating, the only one in his class who did not achieve a master's degree, Einstein could not find a job at the University, apparently because of the irritation he caused among his professors. The father of a classmate helped him find a job at the Swiss Patent Office in 1902. His personality also caused him problems with the director of the Office who taught him to "express himself correctly." In 1904, he got a permanent job at the Patent Office, shortly after finishing his doctorate presenting a thesis entitled: A New Determination of Molecular Dimensions. In 1916 he presented the General Theory of Relativity, in which he completely reformulated the concept of gravity. One of the consequences was the emergence of the scientific study of the origin and evolution of the universe by the branch of physics called cosmology. Soon after, Einstein became a popular icon of science and achieved worldwide fame, a privilege available to very few scientists.

After Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, expressions of hatred for Einstein reached high levels.
