Examination of Scripture confronts us with a powerless God, who is revealed in the cross of Jesus. It concludes with some reflections on the authority of Jesus, which lacks any coercive power precisely because it is the testimony of the eschatological Kingdom of God and on how the Church has to face the organization of power and its relationship with historical powers.
