El objetivo del trabajo es estudiar la comprensión alcanzada por estudiantes de carreras de ingeniería, sobre procesos que sufre la energía en circuitos simples de corriente continua. La metodología constó de una primera etapa “exploratoria” de características más cualitativas, que permitió enunciar hipótesis de trabajo. En una segunda etapa, de índole más cuantitativa, se elaboraron y administraron a los estudiantes cuestionarios escritos, a fin de contrastar experimentalmente las hipótesis formuladas. La investigación muestra, por una parte, que muchos alumnos no interpretan adecuadamente ciertos intercambios energéticos desde un punto de vista macroscópico. Por otra parte, también se advierte que no relacionan o relacionan incorrectamente interpretaciones macroscópicas y microscópicas de los procesos que sufre la energía en el circuito. Se sugieren posibles razones para las incomprensiones detectadas; entre ellas, la escasez de bibliografía sobre el tema, la utilización de modos de razonamiento no científicos, la no diferenciación entre las etapas transitoria y estacionaria por las que atraviesa el circuito, o bien la no discriminación entre análisis macroscópicos y microscópicos.

The objective of the work is to study the understanding reached by engineering students about processes that undergo energy in simple direct current circuits. The methodology consisted of a first "exploratory" stage with more qualitative characteristics, which will assume the formulation of working hypotheses. In a second stage, of a more quantitative nature, written questionnaires were prepared and administered to the students, in order to experimentally contrast the hypotheses formulated. The research, on the one hand, that many students do not adequately interpret certain energy exchanges from a macroscopic point of view. On the other hand, it is also noted that they do not relate or incorrectly relate macroscopic and microscopic interpretations of the processes that energy undergoes in the circuit. Possible reasons for the misunderstandings detected are suggested; Among them, the scarcity of bibliography on the subject, the use of non-scientific modes of reasoning, the non-differentiation between the transitory and stationary stages through which the circuit passes, or the non-discrimination between macroscopic and microscopic analyzes.
