Why was the Civil Right Movement Importan?

The Civil Rights Movement in the United States was a long, and primarily non-violent, struggle to extend full access to civil rights and equality before the law to groups that do not have them, especially African American citizens.

The movement was important, because we all have the same opportunities and the movement is for that, we blacks have our same opportunities and we should not exclude them.
