I n 1537 in London a child was born named Tom Canty, his family was poor and they did not want him, Tom was poor, a beggar, another child was born the same day his name was Edward Tudor, and he was not poor. The king's son was a prince, and his family loved him very much, his father was King Henry VIII of England. The people of England loved Edward very much. King Henry had two daughters but wanted a son to rule after his death. Then his wife, Queen Jane, had a son but died in childbirth. Although the English were very sad for the poor queen, they were very excited for the prince. For many years they had waited and desired a son for their king. There was music and dancing, joy and festivities in all places. Everyone was talking about the prince but no one was interested in Tom.
