An acidic substance is sour-tasting; reacts with litmus paper, bases and metals; conducts electricity; and has a pH of less than 7. An acid can be classified as strong or weak based on its reactivity, conductivity and pH level.

An acid is a substance that donates hydrogen ions. Because of this, when an acid dissolves in water, the balance between hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions changes. There are now more hydrogen ions than hydroxide ions in the solution. This type of solution is acidic.  I hope and help
