What it means to be a Paralympian
Helen Hammer talks about what it means to be a Paralympian:
'Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I can't believe that

ordinary teenager. I was a member of the school athletics team
and I guess some people might have accused me of being

unnecessary risks. I should never have gone climbing in such bad

and with the help of my family I was able to conceive of a life with only
one leg. My big break came when my PE teacher at school suggested

persuaded them to let me try. I was very lucky because I was a natural.
I joined a local club and then one day I was invited to try for the
