"How about

a bedtime story? "

Mom asked.

Sami shook her head.

"I don't want to go to bed.

I'm not tired yet. "

"Okay," Mom said.

"Why don't you pick a book

to read later? "

Sami pulled a new book off the shelf.

"Just read the first page,"

she said, getting on the couch.

The sun went down and fell asleep

The moon rose up

And the Bear of the Dense Forest,

She was getting ready to sleep.

"That's it," Sami said.

"Don't turn the page."

Mom put a bookmark

in the book.

Sami thought for a moment.

"How do bears prepare to sleep?"

while I wash, "she said.

Mama bear helped her little bear,

He took Mom to her room.

And she gave her little bear a good night kiss.

Mom got ready to kiss Sami.

Sami put her finger to her lips.

she said.

"Maybe I'll read it to your teddy,"

Mom said.

Sami hugged her stuffed animal.

"Well" she said

"But only a little,
