ACTIVITY 7: WELCOME TO SCHOOL

Hi everyone!
I'm so happy because guess what? … I'm back at school. Yeah I know what you're thinking but hey ... I'm glad to see all of my friends ... even though he's online for the coronavirus! This morning I was happy to start a new school year.
Let me start at the beginning. My name is Alison and I am 12 years old and my brother John is 15. I also have a
brother, Steve, who is 8 years old. My mother, Sara, is 46 years old. She is a doctor. My father, Michael, is 47 years old, he is a chef in a restaurant. They are very nice, funny, but sometimes they get mad when we do stupid things.
Since March, we have been stressed because we cannot go back to school because of the coronavirus. My father lost his job because the restaurant closed. My mom became our hero because she helped care for people infected with the coronavirus. When our teachers told us we wouldn't have classes, we all jumped for joy, but we never thought it would be that long.
We were sad that we couldn't see our friends and teachers, but our parents told us it was for our safety. During this pandemic, we have learned many things. I learned to cook. I also learned to play with my brother; we create different games to entertain ourselves. I enjoyed watching series on television and reading books. We learned to be more collaborative at home, and the most important thing was learning to enjoy family time.
This is a new school year where we will continue to take classes online, but we are happy because thank God we are healthy.
I hope to go back to school to spend time with my friends and teachers face to face very soon.
