BEAR GRYLLS
Bear Grylls´s real name is Edward. His family called him Bear when he was just one day old., and now everyone
calls Bear.
He´s a British mountain climber, an adventure, a writer, and a TV personality. He lives with his wife and two
children on a boat on the River Thames. He joined the army and was a soldier for three years, but, had to leave
because he had a serious accident in a parachute jump.
But the accident didn´t stop Bear. In 1997, Bear climbed Ama Dablam, a mountain in the Himalayas - a very
difficult mountain to climb.
Then in 1998, Bear climbed to the top of Mt. Everest. And if that wasn´t enough, in 2003, Bear sailed across the
cold North Atlantic Ocean in an open boat. Even more amazing in 2007, he flew over the Himalayas on a
paraglider when it was -76°C ( -105°F). In doing this, he raised $ 1 million for charity.
