What is drug addiction?
Addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing brain disease characterized by compulsive drug seeking and drug, despite its harmful consequences. It is considered a brain disease because drugs change this body: its structure and functioning are affected. These brain changes can be long lasting, and can lead to dangerous behaviors seen in people who abuse drugs.Why do people take drugs?
In general, people start using drugs for several reasons:
To feel good.To feel betterTo perform better.Curiosity and "because others do."If taking drugs makes people feel good or better, what's the problem?
When you consume a drug for the first time, people may perceive what seem to be positive effects; They may also believe that they can control their consumption. However, drugs can quickly take over a person's life.
