End Punctuation
Stop! Look? Listen End punctuation is like a
traffic cop. It controls the movement of your writing,
telling the reader "Stop here!" It directs the reader to
"ask a question, to "show emphasia," to "state a fact."
End punctuation marks periods, exclamation
points, question marks make the render put on his
or her brakes at the end of each complete thought.
(For more information about end punctuation and
capitalization turn to 387.1, 398.1-398.2, 398.4, and
405.1 in your Write Source 2000 handbook.)
Direction
Place periods, question marks, and exclamation points where
they are needed in the following narrative. Also supply the
necessary capital letters. The first paragraph has been done
for you.
