SUMMARY ( resumen) London is the capital and largest city of England and the United Kingdom. The city stands on the River Thames in the south east of England. It was founded by Romans. There are many touristic places that you can visit there: THE TOWER OF LONDON: It’s a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in London. Before it was a prison for illustrious people like Queen Elizabeth I .Then was the Royal Residence for the monarch. THE BUCKINGHAM PALACE: It is the house of the monarch of the United Kingdom. Located in the City of Westminster. The duke of Buckingham built this palace in 1703. The palace has 775 rooms. THE PALACE OF WESTMINSTER: It’s the house of legistature . Informally known as the houses of parliament. The houses of Westminster is divided in two places : The house of commons and The Houses of Lords. It’s a medieval building complex. It was made by the architect Charles Bary. In this place you can find THE CLOCK TOWER, which contains THE BIG BEN CLOCK. The tower is a British cultural icon recognised all over the world. MADAME TUSSAUDS MUSEUM: Marie Tussauds was a French lady, she opened this museum in 1835. It is a major tourist attraction in London , displaying the waxworks of famous figures as well as popular film and television characters from famous actors.
