Robin Hood es un arquetipo de héroe y forajido del folclore inglés medieval. Inspirado por Ghino di Tacco (ladrón histórico italiano cuya fama lo llevó a ser mencionado en la Divina Comedia y el Decamerón), su personaje es un hombre llamado Robin Longstride o Robin de Locksley (o Loxley), quien sería de gran corazón y viviría fuera de la ley, escondido en los bosques de Sherwood y Barnsdale, cerca de la ciudad de Nottingham. Inspired by Ghino di Tacco (Italian historical thief whose fame led him to be mentioned in the Divine Comedy and the Decameron), his character is a man named Robin Longstride or Robin de Locksley (or Loxley), who would be big-hearted and would live outside of the law, hidden in the woods of Sherwood and Barnsdale, near the city of Nottingham. According to legend, the best archer, defender of the poor and oppressed, fought against the Nottingham sheriff and Prince Juan without Land, who used the public force to illegally hoard the wealth of the nobles who opposed them, that is, the State as an oppressor.
